Lindalan basicly nailed it. I would only add there are a LOT of youtube tutorials on doing a build. And that's where I found my confidence to complete my bikes. I've done 4 now. Like Lindalan mentioned--the same with me, I had little bike mechanic experience. Inevitably you will learn about bikes as you go along, gain confidence and in the end not have to rely on your bike shop as time progresses / save money. It's been "a ton of fun."
