Well, despite that lousy weather and an unfortunate reinjury to my shoulder (not bike related), I have made progress. First I replaced a the shift sensor which was exhibiting way too much cable resistance that corrected my shifting woes. Then following much research on youtube I installed a pair of 152mm crank arms I found on Amazon for $27.
Having completed the install I was able to take a 25 mile ride to my favorite hardware store for some stainless bolts to replace the quick release levers that would not tighten enough to prevent the crank boom from shortening up due to motor torque. The trip includes about 3 miles of very significant elevation changes due to having to climb up and over the Erie canal. I include ne t the Eggrider trip report, although I don't quite believe the evaluation change number.
I started the ride with a full charge on my 52v battery (59.6v). I was pleased with how little energy was consumed and the ride provided a very natural feel and excellent leg effort. I never felt like I was just along for the ride. Given what I see here my range will exceed 50 miles, considering most of my rides provide very little elevation change. The shorter cranks do require more gear changes which is fine, I never dropped more than 4 gears and on the steepest incline went past power assist 4.(still set up for 9 pwr levels).
Next I want to show the mirrors I got off amazon last year, I had used Miracycles for years but their long thin support arms exhibit way to much road vibration.
These Meachows are similarly priced but have shorter and much more robust mounts the show much less vibration on the trike. I still need to install the brake cutoffs but waiting for the screw locks needed from Sturney Archer... not standard brake cable ends. Love my Eggrder BBS02....THanks JNO
