Interesting! Do you have a recommendation on a decent road\moutain bike i can purchase for my conversion? I really want to experience this with bike as well!
Thanks to you input, I successfully converted my Catrike Expediton recumbent trike and LOVE it!. Went with a BBS02 w\48v 25ah battery. I can do 30+ miles with plenty or juice left over. Speed :) I'm giving the roadies fits on the bike path. Majority of tem can't keep up with me on ped assist 1\2. They are thanking me for the pull 🚲😅 . I only use ped assist 3 if i want to show off 😁.
Based on that response, I will keep my full carbon out of the equation. Really really nice road bike. Unfortunaetly, I don't have the same endurance but still want to go fast for long rides.
Personally I wouldn’t suggest either. Hub motors have a tendency to rotate in the dropout and that could be bad on a carbon frame. You can add torque arms to help but I’d still say avoid a carbon frame. Your call though.
