I’ve recently ordered a Bafang BBS02B 750w Mid Drive for my Trek Marlin 7 with an XL frame. I‘ve ready extensively about this and saw the Johnny Nerdout video where he showed off this exact build. Just wondering if there are any additional mounting brackets needed to make it all fit or if anyone has recommendations on the chain ring? Is there an offset required to move away from the Bafang chain ring which I hear isn’t the greatest. I don’t want to spend a ton but I’ve found various sizes and offsets by Lekkie, raceface and others that are reasonable. Any advice?

generally for a mtb youre gonna want to use the 42T lekkie. anything lower than 40T has no offset so throws your chainline out too far (lower rings used for fatbike applications). also depends on your drive train setup but 42T is a good all rounder, allows for good climbing as well as top speed. grab four 2.5mm motor spacers and one lekkie 2mm spacer if you need to dial things in just right. grab a lekkie onenut with locktite if your BB happens to be 73mm (may want offset cranks too), for 68mm BB the standard mounting hardware should work.
