The installation of the kit was a breeze thanks to the excellent videos provided by Johnny. I started first though by removing the old hub motor by Falco and moving it to my older recumbent so my friends and wife can join me on rides.
I opted to mount the battery in front of the seat rather than behind it as in the old installation, which turned out to be a big plus as the trike feels far more balanced by unloading the rear wheel, big improvement. As johnny and I were planning this out and I took a lot of length measurements I decided to get an extension for the main Bafang bus cable which in the end reduced the need for a lot of other extensions. I only needed one for the shift sensor and the speed sensor that I mounted to the left front wheel. The Eggrider and throttle reached the left hand control easily. I still need to mount the brake cutoffs but they won't require extensions either.
I believe this setup will probably work for most tadpole recumbents.
I can send more detailed photos if anyone needs them.
As far as the Eggrider goes it is the nuts. When I first rode it it was a beast, but after toning it down dramatically it feels very smooth and natural. I am still set up for 9 levels but will eventually pare that down to 5, the first being for walking my dog...lol.
tI Hope this helps somebody else. I didn't take the time to clean up the bike or my tools, sorry.
Oh yes, the first problem I did have was that the front booms on the recumbent are adjustable for leg lenght and the motor immediatly shortened mine up to the max. I pulled it back out and now have it much tighter and added an additional clamp. I am planning on going to the store and getting some stainless bolts to replace the quick addjust levers, and I added a rubber bumper between the motor and front light stem to eliminate a vibration at speed.
