Some after a good long research on eBike conversions, I decided - there is a bike I can convert and I have a friend who's a bike mechanic and I don't think he'll refuse to help me out (although I'm not so sure about his experience with eBikes). Keep in mind that it won't be just a conversion to an eBike, but an overhaul upgrade of the bike itself, so feel free to suggest certain upgrades (like gearset). I am not really sure if the rear hub will allow me, but I was thinking of upgrading the whole gear groupset to Shimano SLX.
The bike that will be converted:

Anyhow, let's take electrical. I looked at certain kits like BBSHD, Cyclone and CYC X1 Pro (gen2). Unfortunately for me, the BBSHD is quite expensive in Europe, and the CYC is too loud. So I'm really leaning to a Cyclone 3kW kit as I like how it sounds (watched Johnny's videos)...
However I do have to ask - Are CYC X1 Pro components compatible with Cyclone kit? Can I for example use the CYC Crankset, motor sprocket and thick chain? Can I use BAC2000 controller together with Cyclone 3kW, and use CYC's torque sensor, brake-sensor and gear-sensing?
And one more thing to note: The power limit of eBike motor doesn't exist for my country and the 25km/h EU law isn't enforced. Everyone's free to ride eBikes as fast as cars if they wish to. However that doesn't mean I'll be riding like a madman on public roads. I have a drivers license, and I'm not interested in losing it, besides, the roads aren't really flat (quite a bit of holes and bumps on 40% of the roads). Image, Image
ok i wasnt aware the cyclone cost more. odd. also looks like your country ebike laws are loose so u can get away with it. mm a cyclone then isnt a bad idea. ideal for tearing up steep hills and mtns, and hauling balls. just be careful, some people think ebikes are all about getting max speed...you can only do that for so long, until u wreck bad once, then your biking career might be over... what i found in my case, everyones different, is a hardtail MTB with a BBSHD + 42T lekkie gives me the perfect sweet spot - all terrain, able to climb pretty steep mountains (sometimes I need to juice the throttle for some extra help), and moderate speed for commuting/trails I dont end up going faster than 50-60 kph on flats (30-35mph), plenty fast. you just gotta be careful when going high speed. generally cruising 15-25mph is safe, over that u better be paying attention. The BBSHD kit is more refined, though the cyclone has more power, and theyre smoothing out things with more accessories and software programming I heard but I dont know much about what controllers and components are compatible w it. If thats your best option, may as well go for it... again I just hope your MTB frame is quality and fits u properly. u prob want at least a 10 speed cassette for the cyclone, to utilize all that power on more gears. GL to ya, seems like u know what youre doing
idk on the cyclone, i think its a bit overkill for a bike frame that cheap ($500 ish). also do u need to climb mountains or hills? if not really, then imo a cyclone isnt worth it. youd have plenty of speed and fun on a BBS02 for mostly flat terrain and it can climb some hills too. my 2 cents is keep it simpler, and low budget to match your bike. Putting 1500$ in high end parts on a 500$ bike frame generally results in a meh ebike, with some exceptions
