So my Kent Trouvaille has proven to be a challenge from the start. I bought the largest battery with my 750W kit thinking "I want big!" Well, it "fits" but only if you never remove the battery. So I'm awaiting the arrival of a smaller battery that I believe will fit. I don't believe the bottle cage mounts will suffice for my bike due to the positioning. So I am expecting to need to use rivnuts to mount and frankly, I think I want to anyway as I want to have all four mounting points to ensure it is strong and sturdy. This is an aluminum frame bike so I wonder if I should use aluminum rivnuts or stainless steel? I have in my head a nightmare scenario where the steel would hold but the frame would give way as it is softer material. And if I go aluminum, I worry about the strength of the rivnuts. Given that I intend to use four mount points rather than two, I hope in either case, the load would be better distributed. What are the thoughts and experiences of others here with the use of rivnuts on a bike frame?

I use 20" Titan Straps for 13Ah shark style batteries. Significantly larger batteries might require the next size up. The logo/branding on the straps is easily removed with a solvent such as Goof-Off.

By the way, can you cite the recommended length? I really don't like branding my stuff and their logo is obnoxious. But I imagine some heat shrink tubing will remedy that problem nicely if I get black. I'm not at home where I can just run a tape measure around it.
Steel it is then. And yes, I agree with the strap as well.
I prefer to useless stainless rivnuts instead of aluminum. I'm worried about aluminum threads stripping out when I go to crimp the rivnut. If you are worried about the strain of the battery on the mounting points (as you should be), you might want to look into using a Titan Strap as well. I sell these with all my conversions that I do. The Titan Strap just goes around the battery and the frame and secures the battery from all the shocks and bumps that come when riding. They are available on Amazon for about $12.
