Reset Battery?

I've built my bike about 3 years ago and installed a 52 volt (20 ah?) super shark battery. I've only ridden the bike maybe a dozen times since the conversion, but now I am having a problem with the battery. It does not seem to be holding a charge. When I go to charge the battery, it gives/shows me three green lights with the last one being red. The charger seems to be working, but i can't seem to get that last red light to go off. After charging the battery (yes, red light is still on), I can turn on the display and everything seems to be working fine. But in a day or two, the battery is 'dead' and the ebike is once again just a bike.

I've done some online research and suspect I need to reset the battery - but I'm not sure how to go…

Bafang BBS02 dead

I have had a BBS02 kit for over a year and finally got it installed. I have no power, nothing. The battery is fine. I have 54.3v going into the motor and about 30v coming out of the motor at the P+ on the motor 8 pin output cable. I have no power to the display, I disconnected the monitor and plugged in a configuration cable, got nothing. Got a new cable, still nothing. The voltage at the P+ pin seems to vary between 20 to 45 volts at times. The ground at the 8 pin connector is fine. As it has been over a year there is no warranty.

Buggy new DM02 install

Hi all, I just completed a restomod ebike conversion on a '70s era Schwinn Suburban. It's a nicely balanced system, but it has an annoying bug. My last two shakedown rides have revealed a strange glitch. The motor seems to arbitrarily stop responding to torque input from the pedals. The pedal/torque icon illuminates on the display, but no motor response. Shutting down and restarting the system gets me going again. I updated the firmware of both the display and the controller, between the power loss events, so I'm at a loss. Anybody have a sugestion?

Here's the bike:

Sorry to post on my own question, but I figured out the problem. The brake sensor magnet is located a bit too close to the activation point. So, if I let the brake handle snap when I release them, the sensor activates. A little refinement is needed. The firmware update was a mixed blessing. I can no longer access the advanced menu, but I now have the Eco, City, and Sport modes, instead of M1 and M2. Unfortunately, the Eco setting is a bit too high for my needs. Sad. Otherwise, I'm loving the motor and the conversion.

Bafang BBSHD won't power on.

I have a BBSHD 1000 watt on a Specialized Fat Boy (4000 miles and no issues) and I have a light kit which I added last summer. The headlight stopped working so I purchased another kit to replace the headlight. Long story short the connector was different so I figured I would just cut the wires and splice in the new light. The problem is that the wires were not the same color so I had to guess. I tried a few different times and in the process I think I zapped something and now I can't turn on the display. I have 2 batteries so I tried the other one in case I blew the fuse in the battery. That didn't work. I then disconnected the light assembly completely to rule that out. Is there a fuse somewhere that could have blown in the controller? Should I try …

UPDATE: It's working again!!

I decided to take the controller apart again last night and check the connections. When I put it back together I heard the motor try to move but then gave an error on the display 08 H. I looked it up online and it said to check the white connector with 6 pins. I found one pin was bent so I carefully bent it back and then got the motor to work. However, it stopped working if I tightened the housing on the controller. I took it apart again and arranged the wires so they were not crowded together and causing plugs to disconnect. I was then able to tighten everything up and take it for a ride around the block.

Thanks for all your help and your videos were my inspiration for building this bike. I'm in the process of buying some things from your site now and will definitely look to you for any upgrades needed.

Thanks!

Jason

Setting Wheel Size DPC010.CB Display

Recumbent Trike number 2 is finally rolling. I'm trying to find out how to change the wheel size to 24 inch in the settings menu on a DPC010.CB Display. It is currently set to 26 inch.

Recumbent Trike number 1 has the DPC010.CN display and the wheel size change to 20 inch was easy.
