older China scooter wont go

Hello folks, its my first post here. just became a member. I'm Pjay from Montreal and i work for a battery manufacturing company in the R&D department. I pretty much take scooters and bikes and what not and replace the led acid batteries with our own lio-batteries. its been a blast. recently did a gokart electric conversioin. worked out pretty well.

my question is this china bike i found at the curb. i guess someone had already tried to make it work but couldnt.. i've been at this thing for many many hours and i just cant get it to work. its 36v setup and i've purchased 2 speed controllers so far, one brushed and one brushless.. i just cant seem to get it going. i've disconnected the brake plugs. all the lights work, brakes, flashers.

i feel a little defeated at this point. i checked the motor which only has 2 wires, black and red assumingly +/- and it works.

any help is really appreciated before i hit johnny up.

TIA

I have the original throttle and i have another throttle that has a digital display. The digital display lights up when i connect it. It has 5 wires. Black & white seems to be power and ground when connected to a power source. Then there is red yellow and green. Yellow gets full voltage and red and green 0. I assume these 3 goto the plug corresponding with 3 wires also labeled (delauer if i recall).
