Hailong ebike battery storage

I have a Hailong 48V 17.5 Ah ebike battery which I purchased in spring of 2021 (with my BBS02 (from Mr. Johnny Nerdout). It is stored for the winter, but recently read that is should be charged between 60% - 80% for storage. I fully charged it when I put it away in November, and just checked it on my bike controller which indicates that the voltage level is 51.2 volts, and all 4charge indicator LEDs are green on the battery. So definitely over charged. My understanding now is that prolonged storage at full charge can shorten the life of the battery. Is there any simple way to run the battery down short of going for a ride in the snow (in Alberta, Canada)?

i ended up buying a programmable electronic load from ebay for this. i run it at very low amps to be safe but it works great for all my batteries from 12-48v. it's basically just a MOSFET with a massive heat sink on it that sheds off power as heat.

if you don't want to buy anything i've seen other people attach fans and lights to their batteries to discharge them a bit. some google searching will probably give you a tutorial or two.
