BBS02 intermittent power loss

Greetings!

Recently re-fit my BBS02 after repacking the gears with new grease, and new thrust bearings installed a while back. While trying to install new grommets for the motor phase wires, I managed to nick the insulation on one wire with a pick. Attempted to heat shrink over the affected area, but then the wire was too thick to slide the grommet over. During reassembly, the grommet itself seemed to hold the insulation in place.

However, I'm starting to get an intermittent power loss, like there's an increase in drag in the drivetrain, a coarse feeling. It goes away when I power off the motor. Guessing I may have a short on that one phase wire.

What recommendations might you have to verify this is indeed the cause of malfunction, and remedy if it is?

Thanks!

that controller can be a pain to separate from the motor core having to scrape out all the caulk. if you know how to repair the wire then you might be able to? not sure or, order a new motor core or controller depending on where the damaged wire is is my suggestion
