Q: My display is on but my throttle and pedal assist aren't working, what do I do?
A: It is likely your brake sensors that are not calibrated correctly, especially if you have hydraulic brakes. Do you have any error codes on the display? That is the first place to look at.
common codes:
21- speed sensor not calibrated right- make sure the magnet and sensor are communicating and reading speed
30- likely a bent pin somewhere. check connections and get a new wiring harness and display if needed.
Q: my motor is sputtering and the display cuts out.
A: What is the battery voltage when this happens? A 52v battery will experience that around 44-45v and a 48v battery will get that around 42-44v. Your voltage is too low, check and replace your charger if needed.
Q: My motor is making a grinding noise.
A: Could be a couple of things, likely a bad bearing inside the motor. they aren't too hard to replace but feel free to reach out to us to perform that service. If you have a lot of miles, it may be the original lube/ grease needs to be replaced with some high-quality Synthetic gear lube found at any local auto parts store.
Q: I am not getting any power through my system at all. Display stays dark.
A: First thing is to make sure the battery is turned (most of my batteries have a power switch). "0" is off and "I" is on. With the battery on, you can press the side button to make sure the LED lights turn on.
Double and tripe check all your connections. 9.9 out of 10 times I have a customer issue like this, I can find the issue by following all wires, looking for any damage to any wires or any loose connections. Lastly I will unplug and inspect all the pins to make sure none are bent.
Q: My Battery always shows one red LED on the side even after I have charged it fully overnight.
A: This is normal, there will always be one red LED showing. It is confusing, but normal. When I am in charge, there will be no red LED's.
Q: My display only shows half full on the battery gauge after fully charging my battery, why?
A: You likely have a 48v battery and a 52v motor. Depending on the motor you have you can calibrate the voltage in the display and it may help with the accuracy a bit. I never recommend going off the "gas gauge" regardless of how accurate it is because it is never very accurate. Use the Digital Voltage readout instead which is much more precise. 52v batteries are 43-58v and 48v are 41-54v roughly between empty and full.
Q: My charger gets hot when charging, is that normal?
A: Depends. If you have a fanless charger, they are designed to run hotter as they dissipate heat differently than models with a fan. They shouldn't be too hot to touch, but warm is nothing to be worried about. If you have a fanned charger, you want to make sure the fan is working and there are no obstructions for air flow.
